Red Mite warning

Spring has truly sprung and the weather is getting really warm. Just what red mite loves

Ensure good hygiene and dust with Diatom or Red Mite Powder before you have an infestation :!:

Aunty doesn't want your chickens to get all itchy  :D

If your chickens are free range and they have dustbaths (as my flower beds show evidence) do you still need to use mite powder or is it for penned birds please

No name .  This is the stuff, available from many suppliers

Dust the house because that is where they live during the day.

All birds Sandra  The mites live in their night accommodation and only go on to feed from the birds at night so dusting the house is essential.

The mites hide away in cracks and crevices and are microscopic,
so do a thorough job.
